For the life of me I can’t figure out how old the seller of this car is. The ad screams “old guy”, the automatic transmission and style bar (eugh) scream “old guy”, but it has an aftermarket bumper, stretched tires on aftermarket wheels, and TSIs, which are decidedly not old-guy mods. Whut?

What sidewaysondirt said. I’m 48 and I’d never call it a “nice little fun ride to scoot around in”, although my dad would. Dad handed it down, junior modded it, and now dad has repo’d it.

This is super CP anyways. No automatic NA is worth more than like $2k. Plus he is talking about clearcoat and rust issues and a salvage title. This guy is definitely old. Sure it has non-old-people mods but those are in poor taste anyways so he surely has a terminal case of the olds.

Friend of mine is convinced his red auto NA with a hardtop, though in pretty damn good condition, is worth $4k. I’m trying to scrape up $750 to give him for his black OEM hardtop with side latches.

it is always better to sell the hard top, they don’t depreciate and someone will always want it. I think it would actually sell for more with no transmission at all in it. At least then it would be an easier candidate for a swap.
